Improving adherence to medication and anti-counterfeiting

Over breakfast, the discussion focused on:

The contribution of pharmacists to active & healthy ageing and the special case of adherence and New Medicines  Service in the UK; the challenges of the pharmaceutical sector in relation to implementation of the Falsified Medicines Directive and the position and role of the Community Pharmacy  in relation to the stakeholder initiative, associated costs and the future directions (short & long term).

The Q&A session touched upon topics such as

  • Sustainability of community pharmacy network
  • The role of pharmacists in the healthcare system
  • Collaboration with stakeholders such as Industry and consumer groups
  • Cross-border healthcare information and pharmacy services
